SkillBuilder Event for Small Nonprofits

March 19, 2010

On Tuesday, April 6th from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm, MANP is offering a day-long SkillBuilder event with courses targeted towards smaller nonprofits. Three half-day courses will be offered in the categories of fundraising, governance & leadership, and financial management. The event is taking place at SeniorsPlus in Lewiston.

“How to Succeed as a One Person Development Office” will give participants tips and techniques for how to maximize their fundraising ability, despite the lack of support and staff that a larger development office would provide. The other morning SkillBuilder, “Assessing Your Organization’s Viability” will include a self-assessment tool that will help organizations look at their viability, and will also provide additional resources and support ideas.  The afternoon session, “Making Sense of the Dollars and Cents” will help participants understand what should and shouldn’t be shown on financial reports, as well as things that can be done on an ongoing basis to produce accurate and meaningful reports.

Participants who attend the full-day will receive a discount (members $80, nonmembers $160) and will be provided with lunch. If you’re registering for the full-day, you’ll need to call the MANP office at 871-1885 to receive the discount. Click on the titles below for full course descriptions and registration information.
